UPS Item not being delivered?

I recently bought some swimming gear through a website, which had the DELIVERY DATE as june 10 - june 15. It arrived in a location 20 minutes from my house on June 9, 2011, marked as "arrival scan". How come I have not received my gear yet? Did they mishandle/lose the item? I don't think I missed the delivery date of the item because I did not receive any infonotices.
